Octocopters

There are few times when I say to myself well there’s a great innovation. The world really needs that. This isn’t one of those times.

Just this year Amazon finally locked down federal approval to begin use of the “fleet”. They have also changed models several times. I suspect 8 uncovered blades can be uncomfortable to the touch. But it seems as if they are moving forward. According to the interwebs “Amazon said deliveries would occur in areas with low population density and packages would weigh 5 pounds or less.”

However, Wikipedia recently stated “Prime Air operations were expected to begin in select cities starting late 2019; however, as of November 7, 2020, the service has yet to materialize”. This is very upsetting to me. I like robots, and I especially like flying robots that do favors for me.

Though, it’s probably more upsetting to Amazon considering they’ve spent over one hundred billion dollars in research and development so far. By my estimation they’ve constructed over 15 million drones which they store in Indonesia. And, for good measure, they also purchased Indonesia.
